Yard Waste Dumpster Rental across Jacksonville and Northeast Florida
Yards here make debris in bursts. A storm comes through and limbs are down; a landscaping redo pulls out beds, shrubs, sod and mulch all at once; spring and fall cleanups fill bag after bag. Regular collection is not built for it: the City of Jacksonville does not pick up tree waste cut by a tree surgeon or similar business (Ordinance Code Sec. 380.206), its South Mulch Facility is closed, and Nassau County's convenience center does not take yard waste at all. A container on the driveway takes all of it, the week it happens.
Two things shape the job. Clean green waste is worth keeping clean: bagged household garbage, plastic planters, pressure-treated lumber or concrete mixed in turns a simple load into one nobody wants, and in Florida yard trash is barred from lined Class I landfills (F.S. 403.708(12)(c)). And yard waste is bulky and light until it is not: soil, sod, wet leaves and stumps are heavy. We size for the mix.
At a glance
What you get with yard waste dumpster rental

- A 15 or 20 yard for most homes; a 10 for small cleanups and soil
- Same-day or next-day after a storm in many areas, depending on availability
- No bags, no trailer trips
- Clean green waste directed to composting and recycling facilities whenever possible
- Landscapers and property managers: recurring service for ongoing green waste
Storm cleanup, tree work and landscape redos
Storm cleanup is the big one. A storm or hurricane takes out limbs, fences and landscaping across whole neighborhoods at once, and the City's own storm guidance asks residents to sort curbside debris into four piles — appliances, construction and bulky debris, vegetative debris and household trash — and keep them apart, or crews may not collect them. Burning storm debris breaks Jacksonville's year-round burn ban. A 20 yard on the driveway takes the vegetative pile in one go.
Landscape and tree jobs are the planned version — beds, shrubs and hedges out, a tree trimmed or removed, mulch and decorative stone replaced, a property readied for sale or a rental turnover. Landscapers and commercial property managers can set up recurring service for ongoing green waste, and for mixed jobs we can set separate containers for the green waste and everything else.
Soil, stumps and the weight line
Branches, brush and hedge trimmings are light. Soil, sod, wet leaves, stumps and roots are not. A 20 of brush is nowhere near its weight allowance; a 20 heaped with dirt is well over it. Tell us the mix and we will size it — usually a 15 or 20 for the green waste and, if there is a lot of soil, a 10 alongside. Under Florida law, rocks, soils and tree remains from clearing land for a construction project count as construction and demolition debris, while vegetative matter from landscape maintenance is yard trash (F.S. 403.703; FDEP Rule 62-701.200) — another reason to keep each load to one kind of material.

Yard waste — the local specifics
Every county runs its own yard program, and none of them is built for a whole yard at once. City of Jacksonville: tree waste cut by a tree surgeon or similar business is not the City's to collect (Sec. 380.206), and its South Mulch Facility at 11600 Davis Creek Road East is closed. After a storm, JaxReady asks residents to place sorted debris at the curb without blocking the road or storm drains, at least three feet from any obstacle — and never to burn it. Nassau County: the convenience center at 46026 Landfill Rd., Callahan does not take yard waste; the county points residents to the privately run Sandhill Recycle Center on CR 108 in Yulee. Florida law bars yard trash from lined Class I landfills (F.S. 403.708(12)(c)), and CCA pressure-treated wood may not be composted, mulched or burned (FDEP Rule 62-701.300(14)). A container is for the pile that is bigger, heavier or sooner than the curb can handle. The what can and cannot go in guide explains what has to stay out of a green load and where it goes instead.

Answers
Yard Waste Dumpster Rental — your questions answered
Do I need to bag or bundle the brush?
No. Load it as it comes — no bagging, no bundling. The only things that matter are staying level with the top rim and keeping household trash and chemicals out of it.
Can I put dirt in a yard waste dumpster?
Yes — soil, sod and mulch are accepted. Soil is heavy, so it goes in a smaller box or its own load within the weight limit. Tell us it is part of the job when you book and we will plan the loads.
Can I put a whole tree in?
Cut to fit, yes — branches, limbs and small stumps are fine. Keep everything level with the top rim. Big stumps and root balls are heavy, so tell us about them.
How fast after a storm can you deliver?
Same-day or next-day in many areas, depending on availability — call early. In a big storm week we tell you honestly where you are in the queue. If you are in Atlantic Beach, note that the city requires roll-offs to be emptied or removed when a tropical storm or hurricane warning covers Duval County (Sec. 16-8(f)).
Do you recycle green waste?
Whenever possible. Clean green loads are directed to approved composting and recycling facilities rather than buried. Pressure-treated lumber, plastic or household trash in the box spoils that — and in Florida, CCA-treated wood may not be composted or mulched at all.
