Roll-off dumpster rental in Jacksonville Beach

Approx. 26 road miles from the yard, around 40 minutes.

Jacksonville Beach is approx. 26 road miles east of the yard, around 40 minutes — same-day or next-day, depending on availability, so call early in the day. It is a city of 23,830 at the 2020 Census (23,615 by the July 2025 estimate), in Duval County but with its own city code.

City code puts contractor's debris from building, rebuilding or otherwise altering a property on the owner or the contractor doing the work (§27-26) — that is roll-off work. Garbage collection runs through an exclusive City franchise (§27-42), so we check the City's rules before booking a container inside city limits.

Local knowledge

Getting our bearings in Jacksonville Beach

Knowing a city properly is the difference between covering it and showing up with the right box.

  • Its own city — Jacksonville's franchise code leaves nonresidential collection at the Beaches to the beaches communities (Jacksonville Ordinance Code §380.604(c)).
  • Permanent vs temporary — City code counts dumpsters, compactors and "permanent-use open-top roll-offs" as collection containers (§27-1).
  • Covered loads — Florida law requires loads of trash to be covered and secured so nothing falls or blows out on the road (F.S. 316.520(2)).
  • Household Hazardous Waste Facility at 2675 Commonwealth Avenue, Jacksonville — free for Duval residents, Tuesday to Saturday 8 am to 5 pm. Paint, chemicals and batteries go there, not in the container.

What comes out of Jacksonville Beach properties

Kitchens, baths and roofs in 15s and 20s, rental and condo clear-outs in 10s and 15s, larger remodels in 20s and 30s, and a 10 or 15 for concrete and tile. Old carpet from a remodel is fine — Florida C&D facilities may accept carpet remnants from a construction project (Rule 62-701.730(7)(h)). Lead-acid batteries, used oil, white goods and whole tires stay out: Florida bans them from landfills, and tires from C&D facilities too.

Permits, placement and who may haul in Jacksonville Beach

Who may haul — the rule that matters: §27-42 grants an exclusive franchise for residential and commercial solid waste collection, and no other private refuse collector is permitted "except for services not covered under the solid waste franchise contract." Whether a temporary construction roll-off falls under the franchise depends on the franchise contract, so we check the City's rules before booking a container inside city limits. We're licensed and insured.

In the street or right-of-way: §28-20(a) makes it unlawful to "block, obstruct" or place "construction or other material" on a public road, right-of-way or easement of the city without a permit from the director of public works. The permit fee is $40 (§28-20(b)), and an annual surety bond of $1,500 is required (§28-20(c)).

On your driveway: we found no City rule for a roll-off on private property — a driveway placement normally needs no permit, and our crew confirms the spot with you.

State roads: on an FDOT road, FDOT's rules give no permit for a roll-off in the right-of-way — Rule 14-20.008 caps waste receptacles there at 110 gallons.

Knocking something down: FDEP needs a Notice of Demolition at least 10 working days before work starts, even when no asbestos is found. Homes of four or fewer units are generally exempt, unless they are part of a bigger project, were used commercially or are coming down for a commercial building. In Duval the notice is filed with the City of Jacksonville's Environmental Quality Division. Regulated asbestos cannot go to a Florida C&D facility (Rule 62-701.730(19)), so it never goes in our containers — tell us if the survey finds any.

Summarized from the city's published code and web pages as read in October 2026. Codes change — confirm with the department listed before you rely on it.

How it works

Booking a dumpster in Jacksonville Beach

Booking a container here takes one phone call and about five minutes.

  1. 1

Call and tell us the job

One short conversation. We ask the location, what you are clearing, roughly how much there is, and how much room the driveway or lot gives us. No long forms, no guesswork.

  2. 2

We size it and quote it flat

You get one number covering delivery, pickup, disposal, the standard 7-day rental and a stated weight allowance. If a smaller box does the job we will say so. If it is concrete, shingles or dirt, we say up front that weight decides the size.

  3. 3

    Delivered where you want it

The driver sets the container on the driveway, lot or job site where you asked, with protective boards under it if you want them. Often same-day or next-day, depending on availability. You do not need to be home.

  4. 4

    Load at your own pace

Keep it level with the top rim and keep the banned items out — tires, car and rechargeable batteries, used oil, paint, chemicals, propane tanks, asbestos, and appliances such as fridges, A/C units and water heaters. Need more time or a swap mid-job? One call and we are on it.

  5. 5

We haul it and dispose of it right

The load goes to a permitted facility for where the job is — in Jacksonville, the sites the City designates, such as its Trail Ridge Landfill — with metal, concrete, cardboard, wood and clean yard waste recycled whenever possible. You get your driveway back the way you left it.

Local answers

Dumpster rental in Jacksonville Beach — common questions

Is Jacksonville Beach same-day?

Same-day or next-day, depending on availability — it is about 40 minutes from the yard, so call (904) 595-8110 early in the day.

Do I need a permit for a dumpster in Jacksonville Beach?

Not on your driveway, as far as we found. In the street or right-of-way, yes — a City permit from the director of public works, with a $40 fee and a $1,500 annual surety bond.

Can you deliver a roll-off in Jacksonville Beach?

The City has an exclusive garbage franchise with a carve-out for services the franchise contract does not cover, so we check the City's rules before booking a container inside city limits. Call us with the address.

Who removes contractor debris?

The owner or the contractor doing the work. City code §27-26 puts debris from building, rebuilding or altering a property on them.

Service area

Every town we cover

We run roll-off containers out of the Edgewood Avenue yard to every place below. Jacksonville and the closest towns are often same-day; the edges of the area are more likely next-day. Clay, St. Johns and Nassau counties each license or franchise haulers in their unincorporated areas, and some cities keep collection to their own franchisee — each page says so plainly. If your town is not listed, call anyway.
