Roll-off dumpster rental in Jacksonville

The yard is at 678 Edgewood Ave N on the west side of Jacksonville — inside the City, which is consolidated with Duval County.

Jacksonville is where the trucks start. The yard sits on Edgewood Ave N on the west side of town, and delivery is same-day or next-day across the city, depending on availability — often the same day if you call early.

It is a city of 949,611 at the 2020 Census (1,017,689 by the Census Bureau's July 2025 estimate), in a consolidated city-county government — Duval County counted 995,567 in 2020 and an estimated 1,062,963 in 2025. City curbside takes building materials only in small amounts: up to 1 cubic yard a week in non-automated areas, or 2 cubic yards every other week in automated areas. Past that, the City says you need a construction debris container, and "any debris from work performed by a contractor must be removed by the contractor." A kitchen, a roof or a whole-house clear-out is roll-off work.

Local knowledge

Getting our bearings in Jacksonville

Knowing a city properly is the difference between covering it and showing up with the right box.

  • One government — the City of Jacksonville and Duval County are consolidated. Jacksonville Beach, Atlantic Beach, Neptune Beach and Baldwin keep their own codes and their own say over commercial garbage collection (Ordinance Code §380.604(c)).
  • Edgewood Ave N is SR 111 — the road in front of the yard is a state road, so it is FDOT right-of-way, not City right-of-way.
  • Trail Ridge Landfill at 5110 U.S. Hwy 301 S in Baldwin — the City's landfill, about 4½ miles south of I-10, open Monday to Friday 6 am to 7 pm and Saturday 6 am to 1 pm. (904) 748-6015.
  • Household Hazardous Waste Facility at 2675 Commonwealth Avenue — paint, chemicals, fuel, batteries, fluorescent bulbs and e-waste, Tuesday to Saturday 8 am to 5 pm, free for Duval residents. (904) 387-8847.
  • No City dumpster service for businesses — the City says it "does not provide commercial dumpster service," and it does not pick up tree waste from a tree surgeon or similar commercial outfit (§380.206).
  • Year-round burn ban — JaxReady says burning storm debris violates Jacksonville's year-round burn ban.

What comes out of Jacksonville properties

Kitchens, baths and flooring in 15s and 20s, roofs in 20s, whole-house cleanouts in 20s and 30s, demolition and new construction in 30s and 40s, and a 10 or 15 for concrete, brick and dirt — heavy material goes in the smaller boxes to stay inside weight limits. Ordinance Code §380.207 matches the City's curbside limits and leaves contractor waste out of City collection altogether.

Florida decides what stays out of the container. State law keeps lead-acid batteries, used oil and white goods — fridges, freezers, A/C units, water heaters and ranges — out of landfills (F.S. 403.708(12)), and whole tires cannot go to a landfill or a C&D facility (Rule 62-701.300(8)(b)). Refrigerant has to be recovered from appliances first under EPA rules. No liquid paint, solvents, fuel or chemicals; dried, hardened paint in a bucket is fine on a C&D load. Mix household trash into a C&D load and under F.S. 403.703(6) it stops being C&D, so tell us what is going in. Duval residents can take paint, oil, batteries, propane tanks and fluorescent bulbs to the City's HHW Facility for free.

Permits, placement and who may haul in Jacksonville

Who may haul — the rule that matters: Ordinance Code §380.604 requires a City franchise to collect or provide container service for nonresidential (commercial) solid waste in Duval County. Construction and demolition debris is "exempt waste" (§380.603, §380.604(b)(5)), and residential waste is outside the rule. So our Jacksonville commercial work is construction, renovation, fit-out and demolition debris at businesses and property turnovers — not ongoing or scheduled trash service. We're licensed and insured.

On your driveway: we found no City rule for a roll-off on private property. That is the simple place for it — it normally needs no permit, and our crew confirms the spot with you at drop-off.

In the street, on the sidewalk or in the right-of-way: §744.110 makes it unlawful to "block, obstruct" or place "construction or other material" on a City road, right-of-way or easement without a permit from the Director of Public Works. The Right of Way permit is applied for through JaxEPICS: $127 residential or $191 commercial, and the fee doubles if work starts before the permit is issued. Anything that affects vehicle or pedestrian traffic needs an approved Maintenance of Traffic plan, and the contractor needs a Right of Way surety bond on file. Skipping the permit can mean a fine of up to $250 a day. Development Services Review Group, (904) 255-8310.

State roads: on an FDOT road — Edgewood Ave N itself is SR 111 — no City permit applies, and FDOT's rules give no permit for a roll-off in the right-of-way: Rule 14-20.008 caps waste receptacles there at 110 gallons, and Rule 14-20.010 excludes them from FDOT's temporary-use permits.

Where it goes: §380.302 sends solid waste only to sites the Director of Solid Waste designates, and §386.201(c) requires every C&D disposal site in Duval County to hold a City certificate of public convenience and necessity. Whoever delivers C&D is asked to attest whether it was generated inside the City (§380.405).

Knocking something down: FDEP needs a Notice of Demolition at least 10 working days before work starts, even when no asbestos is found. Homes of four or fewer units are generally exempt, unless they are part of a bigger project, were used commercially or are coming down for a commercial building. In Duval the notice is filed with the City's Environmental Quality Division. Regulated asbestos cannot go to a Florida C&D facility (Rule 62-701.730(19)), so it never goes in our containers — tell us if the survey finds any.

Summarized from the city's published code and web pages as read in October 2026. Codes change — confirm with the department listed before you rely on it.

How it works

Booking a dumpster in Jacksonville

Booking a container here takes one phone call and about five minutes.

  1. 1

Call and tell us the job

One short conversation. We ask the location, what you are clearing, roughly how much there is, and how much room the driveway or lot gives us. No long forms, no guesswork.

  2. 2

We size it and quote it flat

You get one number covering delivery, pickup, disposal, the standard 7-day rental and a stated weight allowance. If a smaller box does the job we will say so. If it is concrete, shingles or dirt, we say up front that weight decides the size.

  3. 3

    Delivered where you want it

The driver sets the container on the driveway, lot or job site where you asked, with protective boards under it if you want them. Often same-day or next-day, depending on availability. You do not need to be home.

  4. 4

    Load at your own pace

Keep it level with the top rim and keep the banned items out — tires, car and rechargeable batteries, used oil, paint, chemicals, propane tanks, asbestos, and appliances such as fridges, A/C units and water heaters. Need more time or a swap mid-job? One call and we are on it.

  5. 5

We haul it and dispose of it right

The load goes to a permitted facility for where the job is — in Jacksonville, the sites the City designates, such as its Trail Ridge Landfill — with metal, concrete, cardboard, wood and clean yard waste recycled whenever possible. You get your driveway back the way you left it.

Local answers

Dumpster rental in Jacksonville — common questions

How fast can you deliver in Jacksonville?

Same-day or next-day across the city, depending on availability — often the same day if you call early. Call (904) 595-8110 — the yard is on Edgewood Ave N, and we answer 24/7.

Do I need a permit for a dumpster in Jacksonville?

Not that we found for a private driveway. In a City street, sidewalk or right-of-way, yes — a Right of Way permit from Public Works through JaxEPICS, $127 residential or $191 commercial, doubled if the work starts first.

Will the City haul my remodel debris?

Only a little. Curbside takes up to 1 cubic yard of building materials a week, or 2 every other week in automated areas, and any debris from a contractor's work must be removed by the contractor. A roll-off is the simple answer.

Do you run weekly trash service for businesses?

Not in Jacksonville. Ongoing commercial trash service there needs a City franchise under §380.604. Our commercial work is roll-offs for construction, renovation, fit-out and demolition debris, which the code exempts.

How much does a dumpster cost in Jacksonville?

Flat-rate with no hidden fees — in many cases $350–$750, depending on the size and the project, with a 7-day rental as standard. Call (904) 595-8110 for a quote.

Every town we cover

We run roll-off containers out of the Edgewood Avenue yard to every place below. Jacksonville and the closest towns are often same-day; the edges of the area are more likely next-day. Clay, St. Johns and Nassau counties each license or franchise haulers in their unincorporated areas, and some cities keep collection to their own franchisee — each page says so plainly. If your town is not listed, call anyway.
