Fruit Cove is approx. 25 road miles south-southeast of the yard, around 37 minutes — same-day or next-day, depending on availability, so call early in the day. It is an unincorporated census-designated place: 32,143 people at the 2020 Census, all in St. Johns County.

With no town government, St. Johns County's solid waste ordinance applies directly. The County's transfer stations take household garbage, household hazardous waste and white goods; C&D goes to the two sites the County names. Remodels and clear-outs are roll-off work.

Kitchens, baths and roofs in 15s and 20s, clear-outs in 15s and 20s, and a 10 or 15 for concrete and brick. Fridges, freezers, A/C units and water heaters are white goods under Florida law and cannot be landfilled — the County's transfer stations take them instead. No liquid paint, solvents or fuel; dried, hardened paint in a bucket is fine on a C&D load (Rule 62-701.730(7)(g)). No lead-acid batteries, used oil or whole tires.

Permits, placement and who may haul in Fruit Cove

Who may haul — the rule that matters: St. Johns County Ordinance 2017-39 §4 makes it unlawful to collect or transport solid waste for pay from any property in the county without a County franchise, unless the work is exempt — and C&D roll-offs are not on the exemption list (§5). The County's C&D franchises are non-exclusive and approved by Board resolution (§6.A; Res. 2024-252). We're licensed and insured.

On the job site: §12.A puts C&D debris in containers at job sites and bans wire "pig pens"; §12.B makes debris left on the ground more than seven days a public nuisance; §13 requires a fully covered or enclosed vehicle or container to haul it.

In a county road: the County requires a written right-of-way permit to block, obstruct or place material in any public road right-of-way (Section 30.0), through its ROW Use Online Permit Application. A driveway placement normally needs no permit — we found no County rule for one — and our crew confirms the spot with you. On State Road 13, FDOT's rules give no permit for a roll-off in the right-of-way (Rule 14-20.008).

Knocking something down: FDEP needs a Notice of Demolition at least 10 working days before work starts, even when no asbestos is found. Homes of four or fewer units are generally exempt, unless they are part of a bigger project, were used commercially or are coming down for a commercial building. Outside Duval the notice goes to the FDEP district or local program office for the area. Regulated asbestos cannot go to a Florida C&D facility (Rule 62-701.730(19)), so it never goes in our containers — tell us if the survey finds any.

How it works

Booking a dumpster in Fruit Cove

Booking a container here takes one phone call and about five minutes.

  1. 1

Call and tell us the job

One short conversation. We ask the location, what you are clearing, roughly how much there is, and how much room the driveway or lot gives us. No long forms, no guesswork.

  2. 2

We size it and quote it flat

You get one number covering delivery, pickup, disposal, the standard 7-day rental and a stated weight allowance. If a smaller box does the job we will say so. If it is concrete, shingles or dirt, we say up front that weight decides the size.

  3. 3

    Delivered where you want it

The driver sets the container on the driveway, lot or job site where you asked, with protective boards under it if you want them. Often same-day or next-day, depending on availability. You do not need to be home.

  4. 4

    Load at your own pace

Keep it level with the top rim and keep the banned items out — tires, car and rechargeable batteries, used oil, paint, chemicals, propane tanks, asbestos, and appliances such as fridges, A/C units and water heaters. Need more time or a swap mid-job? One call and we are on it.

  5. 5

We haul it and dispose of it right

The load goes to a permitted facility for where the job is — in Jacksonville, the sites the City designates, such as its Trail Ridge Landfill — with metal, concrete, cardboard, wood and clean yard waste recycled whenever possible. You get your driveway back the way you left it.

Local answers

Dumpster rental in Fruit Cove — common questions

Is Fruit Cove same-day?

Same-day or next-day, depending on availability — it is about 37 minutes from the yard, so call (904) 595-8110 early in the day.

Do I need a permit for a dumpster in Fruit Cove?

Not on your driveway, as far as we found. Anything in a county road needs a St. Johns County right-of-way permit.

Where can I take old appliances?

The County's Tillman Ridge and Stratton Rd transfer stations take white goods. Florida bans them from landfills, so they stay out of the container.

Is Fruit Cove a town?

No. It is unincorporated St. Johns County, so County rules apply directly.

Service area

Every town we cover

We run roll-off containers out of the Edgewood Avenue yard to every place below. Jacksonville and the closest towns are often same-day; the edges of the area are more likely next-day. Clay, St. Johns and Nassau counties each license or franchise haulers in their unincorporated areas, and some cities keep collection to their own franchisee — each page says so plainly. If your town is not listed, call anyway.
